Stephenson’s Tea and Coffee House, based in central Chesterfield, has been serving delicious meals, cakes and drinks since 2007. Mother and son team, Claire and Sam Wood took ownership of the shop in 2014 and the business has gone from strength to strength. So much so, that in July 2016, they expanded their award-winning reputation for excellent service and locally-sourced fresh food, by taking over the management of the coffee shop in Chesterfield’s famous church, St May’s All saints (crooked spire), now known as The Spire by Stephenson’s.
Business is brisk in both premises, resulting in a high turnover of crockery and glassware that needs to be cleaned to a high standard. When looking for a machine that would meet their needs, Claire was keen to invest in something that was easy to use, reliable and wouldn’t require items to be washed twice to meet requirements. After looking at products available on the market, she decided on the Classeq Under Counter due to its simplicity and quality of the product. In line with Stephenson’s ethos, which supports local and British businesses, it was also important that the product was British-designed and manufactured.
Claire Wood, Owner of Stephenson’s Tea and Coffee House, commented:
““We chose a Classeq warewashing machine for the Tea and Coffee House a couple of years ago and we haven’t looked back. When it came to installing a machine in the new premises, to me it was an obvious choice to go with Classeq for several reasons.
“Our new coffee shop, The Spire by Stephenson’s, is all about integration with the local community, so it’s important that our standards remain high, from the locally-sourced menu to the sparkling crockery. Classeq’s British manufacturing credentials, the simplicity of use as well as the reliability of the machines and our experience of excellent customer service, all contributed to the decision to once more invest in the Classeq brand.”
